Light Blue Group- Ferris Wheel

We built a Ferris Wheel with a motor and a motion sensor.  When someone wanted to get on, they would stand in line and the motion sensor would detect them and stop.

Orange Group-Building a Spinner

Today we had to build a spinner.  It spins by the engine controlling the motor.  We needed the ASD control button--A-slow speed, S-fast speed, D-cut the engine.

We had to use pulleys and belts to make the birds spin.  We also needed gears to help the birds spin!

The motion sensors activate the mouth to make it open and close.  We chose a background (#2) grass because alligators live in grasslands.

Orange Group - Roaring Lion
The lion stands up and roars, but lays back down when given a bone.  It is activated by the tilt sensor.

Black Group - Spinner
If you put the spinner too slow it will not take off and spin, but if you set it to a faster motion it will spin for a long time.  It was interesting that we had to use three connector cables!

Yellow Group - Dancing Birds
Today we learned about Pulleys and Belts as well as gearing up and gearing down......ask your child how they did it!

Hello Lego Robotics Fans!

Welcome back to some of you and to others who are taking this for the first year get excited for a fun and thrilling class!  We have added a few new creations for students to build and computer programs to create!  Lego Robotics is all about exploration, investigation, and creativity.  Each Day a robotic group will be posting about the exploration that happened for the day.  It will be their choice how they want to show this to you through our blog.  Enjoy reading and feel free to make comments about the amazing work our students do!
